Sebastian Weber, born (1985) and raised in Switzerland, works as a cinematographer on features, shorts, documentaries, advertisements and music videos.

After his BA in Film at the Zurich University of Arts, he moved to Poland to pursue his MA in Cinematography at the Polish National Film School in Lodz from 2012-2018.

He is based in Warsaw, Poland, and works worldwide on various projects, expanding his network abroad by collaborating with directors from different nationalities, cultures and backgrounds. In Turkey he built himself a second homebase, completing 4 feature movies between 2018-2020.

The films he shot as a cinematographer were screened and awarded at numerous film festivals around the world, among which IDFA, Berlinale, Palms Springs, Clermont-Ferrand and Camerimage.

His directorial debut documentary “The Guest” got awarded at the 16th Doclisboa Film Festival 2018 for Best short film and won the Jury Award in the International Competition.

Sebastian likes the challenge of capturing the essence of each director’s vision, always with the desire of translating it into an individual signature, while bringing something additional to the plate. He doesn’t strive for one particular style and devotes himself, almost with a certain obsession, to every project.

In his free time, he plays the saxophone, dances through the night and likely cries while watching a movie.
